Jesse Jackson was in a league with MLK. Greatness is achieved through the power of RIGHT, PERSEVERENCE, DIGNITY, TRUTH, and RESPECT. Mr Jackson had all of this and a whole lot more. Few have aspired to his level of intelligence and understanding (HE WILL BE MISSED BY A GREAT NUMBER OF PEOPLE WORLD WIDE). May the great spirit in the sky take care of him!

Thank you Jesse Jackson for a life of constantly fighting for right.

It will be sometime before you are matched by anyone else.!!!

They weren't even friends. … That much is certain.

Jackson built unto himself. He left no legacy for Black ppl except the pretense of having been a friend to MLK when he was truly a shill and Gatekeeper for whites only. I have far more respect for your legacy, Bakari Sellers, than I ever would have or could have Jesse Jackson's. What need did he have of an office in a Trump Tower? He was also called β€œReverend…”, where was his church office? Why didn't his church members provide for his office needs like Dr. King's church did? I can only guess why he would have been at a Trump tower begging. … And it's nothing nice.

What stands out in your post is the reminder that Jesse Jackson’s legacy wasn’t only moral leadership, but structural change. From pushing the Democratic Party toward proportional representation to building the Rainbow Coalition and leveraging economic pressure through the Wall Street Project, he understood that political power and economic power were inseparable. That strategic vision is often overlooked when people reduce his legacy to symbolism alone.

Your point about the balance he struckβ€”between social justice, economic empowerment, and coalition politicsβ€”is especially timely. Jackson recognized early that inclusion had to mean opportunity in markets, boardrooms, and ownership, not just representation in rhetoric.
