I haven’t read the original article, but if they said at any point that he was a front runner because he fits the image (race and gender-wise) that America wants to see, I would respect that. Especially in this ‘anti-DEI’ (pro-white supremacy) era.
He does have things he’s naturally good at, like debating/talking on his feet and taking proactive political steps when others don’t. But if the DNC (which I don’t personally know) sees this as exceptional presidential material and not strategically the best of the current bunch, it is concerning.
Also, his proactive nature has made him a flip-flopper and a platformer of right wing bigotry. I personally find his continual double and triple downing of his support for Charlie Kirk’s legacy absolutely DISGUSTING 🤢 .
These are just my two cents as a concerned outsider (Canadian) looking in.
Agree with your analysis and comments. However I sometimes wonder what are you doing about your opinion if you make contact with the DNC and voice your concern. I think if you have ideas and suggestions share them with those in leadership. Not everyone consume news from this platform. The most problem with the party is the ability to spread the correct information to correct people and reaching voters.

Newsome has been a great governor of California. Certainly, the state has problems, but he actually WORKS on those in this big, complicated state. It and he are at the forefront of resistance to dumpy and that has been super important during this time and should not be denigrated. He can act on a national and international stage because California under his leadership has outperformed in so many ways.

I have to agree with you that the right wing think tanks are clear on what they want to do. They are now using TPUSA to spread their filth in Colleges, Universities and schools in some States. There is no similar organizing by DEMS. This needs to change real quickly.
